Energy Saving Target Achieved – UK

Our sustainability program includes the continuous improvement of building operations. To this end, we have set ourselves energy targets and targeted a 6% reduction in consumption for the UK portfolio over two years by 2018. Over the course of the period, we have implemented a number of initiatives identified through asset auditing. These include LED lighting, voltage optimization, and increasing the efficiency of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve building management.

The programme achieved an 8.1% reduction, equivalent to 3.8 million kWh, a reduction of 930 tonnes of CO2 and a saving of £340,000. This success led us to be finalists in the Energy Efficiency category of the Edie Sustainability Awards 2019, together with our sustainability consultants Evora Global.
