Schroders Capital is celebrating two of its senior managers being recognised among the most influential women in private markets.
Global Head of Real Estate Sophie van Oosterom and Maria Prieto, Co-Head of Europe and Head of Sustainability for Private Equity, were both named among Private Equity International’s (PEI) inaugural Women of Influence in Private Markets List.
The ranking was highly competitive with just ten nominations secured for each asset class out of hundreds of submissions.
Sophie’s focus on driving Schroders Capital’s real estate expansion and her track record of building successful real estate businesses was recognised, while Maria’s leadership in European private equity and growing Schroders Capital’s co-investment practice was also highlighted by PEI.
Schroders Capital is placing a strong focus on promoting diversity. Other female leaders who have joined Schroders Capital’s leadership team over the past year have been Chantale Pelletier, as Global Head of Infrastructure, Natalie Howard as Head of Real Estate Debt and Nicole Kidd as Head of Private Debt for APAC. These appointments have all supported the ambitious growth strategy of Schroders Capital.
Furthermore, Maria Teresa Zappia is the Chief Impact and Blended Finance Officer and Deputy CEO of BlueOrchard, the microfinance specialist in which Schroders holds a majority stake.
Georg Wunderlin, Global Head of Private Assets, Schroders Capital, commented:
“We are proud to count two highly talented individuals in this highly sought-after ranking.
“Sophie and Maria have rightly received the accolades for the outstanding recognition they have built in their industries. We regard diversity, inclusion, and a holistic view on stakeholder value as a key success factor for us and we will continue to promote a new type of thinking in private markets.”
