Schroders Capital’s real estate team today announces the successful sale of Värdshuset 2, an iconic 3,900 sqm office property located on top of Hyllie train station in Malmö, to Wihlborgs.
Värdshuset 2 was acquired in 2012 on behalf of the Schroder Nordic Real Estate Fund (SNREF). Over the course of 12 years the team has managed the asset to provide stable income and value growth for its investors. The successful divestment of Värdshuset 2 marks a significant milestone for SNREF, completing the business plan for the asset, solidifying performance and generating liquidity for its investors.
Moving forward, the fund team will remain focused on creating value within the existing portfolio and exploring future investment opportunities in the Nordic market. The divestment of Värdshuset 2 underscores the commitment of Schroders Capital’s real estate team to operational excellence, innovation, and execution capabilities, all aimed at delivering strong performance and timely liquidity for its clients.
Johan Brakenhielm, Head of Nordics Real Estate, Schroders Capital, said:
“We are pleased to announce the successful sale of Värdshuset 2, a historic landmark since it was the first office building that was erected in Hyllie. Our unwavering commitment to innovation and operational excellence has been instrumental in achieving this remarkable outcome for our clients. We remain fully committed to the Nordic markets and are excited about the promising opportunities that lie ahead.”
Johan Persson, Transaction Manager Nordics, Schroders Capital, said:
“Despite the challenging economic climate, we are proud to report a strong level of buyer interest and multiple competing bids for the property. As we have demonstrated over the past real estate cycles, we are experienced and committed to navigating markets through different investment periods and delivering successful outcomes for our clients.
