Schroders Capital today announces the appointment of Gina Hartnett who has joined Schroders Capital’s Securitised Product and Asset-Based Finance team in the newly-created role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Gina will be located in our London office and will report to Michelle Russell-Dowe, Head of Global Securitised Product & Asset-Based Finance. She will be a part of the Investment Committee.
The Global Securitised Product & Asset-Based Finance team has seen robust growth in assets, from $5 billion in 2016 when the team joined Schroders to currently overseeing $16 billion invested and committed capital, across liquid alternatives and alternative credit mandates globally.
The team is based in New York and London and focuses on the full spectrum of global securitised assets such as mortgage-backed securities (commercial and residential), asset-backed securities, collateralised loan obligations and also originates and invests in secured private debt markets, such as real estate and asset-finance.
Gina was the Head of Distribution - Portfolio Management, Commercial Banking division at Lloyds Bank, where she was responsible for the execution and delivery of a programme of complex structured finance transactions.
With over a decade of securitisation experience in major law firms, Gina applies this specialism across governance, best practice and policy-building around capital efficient structured solutions.

Schroders’ Securitised Product & Asset-Based Finance team focuses on alternative credit & specialty finance including: securitised products, secured loans, such as real estate loans and asset-based finance. The team works across the spectrum of asset-finance from securities to private credit, offering a range of returns and liquidity profiles for institutional clients and funds.
